10 Days Without Spending any Money
I love being a dad. One of my favorite parts about having boys is getting to take them out on man outings. Man outings are the father — son version of daddy — daughter dates, and tonight I’m going on one with my 2-year-old son. Unfortunately, I made a big promise to my boy about where we were going for our man outing without thinking about the segment I’m in. Noah loves sorbet, so when I told him I would take him anywhere I got a super quick reply, “the iceteen store.” That left me with a dilemma: do I break a promise to my son or break my “no money” fast for one night. Lucky for me, I had a great dad who always put his kids before his projects, which means tonight, I’m taking my son to get “iceteen.” (Although this word sounds like a Disney Channel Original Movie, this is just referring to how my 2-year-old says ice-cream.)
However, that doesn’t mean I’m giving up on this thing. I will probably spend between $2 and $3 tonight — but that will be it. And I’m still going to donate the same amount that we use. Do you like “iceteen?” How much do you spend on ice-cream when you go to Coldstone or yo-yogurt? Consider donating that same amount to Living Water by clicking here.
Living Water is an amazing organization that provides safe and clean water for people in the third-world. Our goal is to raise $2,000 for a water rehab in Haiti. This means clean, safe water for around 2,000 people for a year! Remember, we have a matching gift of $2,000 pledged, which means every $1.00 you donate will actually provide water for 2 different people in 2012! You can donate by clicking here.
